We’re excited to welcome you to the Dowling Ranch Bred Heifer Sale. Maternal traits have always been the foundation of our program, and every heifer in this offering reflects that focus. These heifers come from reputation ranches across Central South Dakota and are selected for their ability to thrive in tough, rugged country, built to perform under the demanding conditions of the region while maintaining the strength, stamina, and temperament needed for long-term success. Each one has been evaluated for its own maternal strengths, as well as the maternal qualities of the sires used on them. Through ovary palpation, AI, bull selection, and confirmation evaluation, we’ve worked hard to develop heifers that are long-term, productive, and dependable cow makers.

Even the best genetics need proper care to reach their potential. That’s why we work closely with a nutritionist to develop a balanced ration with a custom-blended mineral program, keeping our cattle healthy, performing at their best, and ready to thrive. All of our cattle work is done on horseback, and we take pride in the calm, easy-going temperament of these heifers. They are cake broke, weighed to standard, and pelvic measured to help reduce calving difficulty—carefully prepared to step into your program and make an immediate impact.
